Aderant Scan Folder Not Updating

Periodically, BE-FS01 will get hung up.  You can tell there is an issue if you go to log in and it hangs at "Welcome" and you are unable to browse to the \\be-fs01\aderant share.  To recover from this the server needs to be manually shut down, booted into Safe Mode, have a utility called "devnodeclean" run, and then rebooted normally.  The process to follow is below:

  • Open VMWare Console
  • Right click on BE-FS01 > Power > Power Off
  • Right click on BE-FS01 > Power > Power On
  • Right click on BE-FS01 > Open remote Console
  • while the server is booting, select safe mode
  • once server has booted in safe mode, log in as service.expert
  • on the desktop is a folder named "devnodeclean", open the folder and browse to the x64 folder
  • run devnodeclean.exe
  • a console window will open indicating that devnodeclean is removing old shadow copies, once the console window closes, reboot the server and allow it to boot normally
  • Open the Task Scheduler and run "Process Scanned Images" and allow it to finish
  • Open System Scheduler and run "EI Bills"
